Youthworks serves churches and schools active with children, youth and families to raise disciples of Jesus Christ. In 1950, the Youth Department was officially established, with Graham as its first Director. Seville had traveled extensively throughout North America, studying camping ministry and outdoor education for young people. Lower Seville’s leadership, and later Directors, the Youth Department saw meaningful expansion of its sites and camping ministry. As the fresh educational camping program became rapidly popular with schools, it became necessary to develop young, well trained leaders who would view camping ministry as a long term vocational choice. In contrast, the Anglican Youth Department’s focus was on camping ministry, managing the Anglican campsites and training youth workers. The story of Youthworks is one of God bringing gifted people with diverse ministry strengths together into one organization, with a shared vision and heart to see young people transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Developments have included the launch of the Year 13 gap year program in 2006 Leaders in Training (lit) camps for senior lofty students the formation of Generate Ministries, for high school SE Chaplaincy Sound Ministry training SE Accreditation training and Schools Ministry Conferences and the launch of online study through the Timothy Partnership in 2010. But under God, we pray that the wonderful legacy of the past will continue to produce fruit for the tomorrow as we constantly seek new ways to orient young people for life in Jesus. Andrew also has extensive commercial experience, having served as Executive Director of numerous technology companies and higher education provider Wesley Institute, as well as governance roles on boards including HOPE Media. Now at Youthworks, he longs to assist churches find ways to yield good and grave theological and possible ministry training for those who labor with children and youth. Darren has worked with Youthworks for the preceding 16 years. Having a background in construction, Darren started in the maintenance team and then moved into management of the Port Hacking centers. He started employed life as a primary school teacher, was ordained as an Anglican minister and then taught New Testament at Moore College, serving also as the Vice Principal. Janet works piece time, overseeing communications and donor relations, and also teaches primary school SE classes. Jon has been involved in vocational ministry to children, youth and young adults for over 20 years, including teaching SE in a number of schools around Sydney. From SE to our Christian Outdoor Education programs, and from specialized ministry training and biblical publications to Year 13: the discipleship of children, youth and families is at the heart of everything we do. Our Ministry Support Team equip and help those in front line youth and children’s ministry in churches and schools. Youthworks is the authorized SE curriculum provider for the Sydney Anglican Diocese, and is also responsible for the training and accreditation of SE teachers. Youthworks offers a thoroughly integrated Christian Outdoor Education experiences to schools through our Horizon programs, as healthy as other options to suit your school’s outdoor education needs. Youthworks also runs numerous holidays and HS Observe camps at our conference centers throughout the year.

Youth ministry at the time was often led by the young people themselves, which created known problems as more men and women entered energetic military service. The challenge for Graham was enormous, and under God, he laid the foundations that would forever change the landscape of youth ministry in Sydney.
